Episode 132: Rant and Roar!
It's a Misty-centric episode, but that doesn't stop a few very important moments with other characters slip into the mix. Namely, Brock may have actually found a girl who likes him back and Chikorita is actually providing a plot through-line to tie all this filler together. Also, I discuss listener mail, Ash's age and also his hips... Click here to listen!
Don't forget to check out PIRN and their petition regarding Pokemon Music (and the lack therof). Also, part three of the interview with Ralph Shuckett is up, here!

Brandon, I love that theory! It is worth mentioning that the Japanese version should be considered canon over the English version. (Correct?) Dubbing mistakes and misconceptions have been happening forever. In the first episode of Kalos, Ash is stated to be a "young man" which could mean about 16-18. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't remember the BW line where they say Ash is 10 being in the Japanese version
ReplyDeleteThat line about Satoshi being ten IS in the Japanese version, unfortunately. It's right at the beginning while he's getting ready for the vacation. Japan started this...and the ones who couldn't decide how old Team Rocket actually was! (also, "shonen" is how they typically describe Satoshi, which could be translated as "young man" but it covers ten-year-olds. It's not at all uncommon in anime to call elementary boys that.) Other than that, I agree with you.
DeleteEarlier today I had a thought: We're 16 episodes into Kalos, and Serena still only has Fennekin (Fokko). You would think that she'd have caught at least one more pokemon by now.
ReplyDeleteYou would think Serena would have done ANYTHING by now! ;) That girl needs a goal, preferably something Pokemon-related...
DeleteConsidering the fact that Chikorita’s Vine Whips comes from her necklace’s buds, can she produce more than two Vine Whips at once?
